Bringing out the best in every child we teach

Our school is a member of Cumann na mBunscol. Each year we participate in GAA football matches and run for our lives during the many Athletics competitions that take place.

GAA coach, Denis Carr and our own teacher, former Galway Footballer, Nora Griffin trains the GAA Team as an After-School activity each week in the hall. When the weather improves we move to our pitch close-by in Woodquay.

Here are Mercy Primary we are committed to supporting every child to be physically active and have positive attitudes towards a healthy and active lifestyle.

We believe in giving our pupils the opportunity to access a wide range of sporting and physical based activities allowing them to develop new skills through PE in school, after school clubs and inter community sporting  competitions.

Our school has a great indoor hall which also boasts the inclusion of a P.E. Equipment Room. All classes have access to the hall and have a time allocated to them on our P.E. Timetable.
