Assembly & Awards Day

Bringing out the best in every child we teach

In the Mercy Primary, Rena Jordan, School Principal meets with all the classes every month. During this assembly Múinteoir Rena shares school news with the Infant Classes at their own special Assembly and then with 1st Class to 6th Class.

Every Assembly day has a Theme based on the school’s Oral Language Programme.

The pupils thoroughly enjoy representing their class on stage by performing their songs, poems and prayers.

Classes are presented with awards for the following:

  • Best Class Attendance for the previous month
  • Best Class in the Hall
  • Best Class for ‘Walking to School.’ – The Golden Boot Award

Individual Pupils are presented awards each month for the following during the course of the School Year:

  • Great Start to the School Year
  • Improved Writing / Perfect Penmanship
  • Especially Kind/Minister of Manners
  • Good Manners/Eco Warrior
  • Hard Worker/Maths Wizard
  • Best Attendance/Wonderful Reader
  • Gaeilgeoir na Miosa
  • Good Homework
  • All-Star Student


Pupils are also awarded individually for ‘Best Attendance’ at the end of every term.
